Dear fellow believers,
It gives me immense joy to congratulate and felicitate Rev. Suviseshamuthu, new president of the India Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Suvi, a pastor from Valliyoor Pastorate of Nagercoil Synod- IELC, was elected and installed as the new president of IELC at the IELC election held at Immanuel Lutheran Church Ambur on 26th May, 2017. Former President Rev. Gambeeram presided over the election process, which was witnessed by the LCMS representatives Rev. Roger B. James and Rev. Roy Askins. The faculty and Concordia Seminary Community whole heartily congratulate Pastor Suvi, and praise God for giving us a new leader for this historic Church during this challenging period.
Pastor Suvi proved his good leadership qualities in his parish and specialized ministries. Most importantly for the seminary and the entire IELC, he is a person committed to confessional Lutheran theology and a person devoted to the cause of His great commission. He is a seasoned pastor who has immense experience working both in rural as well as urban ministerial contexts. He is an able administrator and a leader, who is able to inspire people. He is very good in interpersonal relationship and is able to understand and attend to the needs of people coming from diverse background. We are sure that he will be able to bring back peace and reconciliation throughout IELC. As he had very good close relationship with our mother Church LCMS, we hope that he can renew the IELC- LCMS relationship with theological, financial integrity and administrative cooperation.
As the Chairman of the Concordia Seminary Governing board, I can say on behalf of the entire seminary that we are looking forward to his leadership with much hope. Rev. Suvi always remained as a friend of CTSN and his physical proximity to the seminary will no doubt help him to be available and active towards our concerns in the seminary. We are looking forward to develop our Seminary to an International Standard with the help of our beloved partner Church LCMS. As the president of IELC, he already took time to be with us at the faculty meeting held on 2nd Friday June. He promised all his untiring efforts to work close with us and LCMS to bring the development of the seminary. We are looking forward for a new beginning in the history of IELC and CTSN with his leadership. The faculty and the seminary community, wish God’s richest blessing to our new president, Rev. Suviseshamuthu and assures all our cooperation and support as he assumes his office.
With God’s Riches Blessings,
Rev. Dr. D. Christudas,
